Is it a good rig for a laptop for gaming?
Im gonna build a laptop out of my laptop pieces lying around and this is what ive got:
Intel core i5 2450m 2.5 GHz
8 GB ram
Nvidia geforce gt 520mx 1Gb, intel hd 3000
Samsung 1tb hdd

what games are you going to be playing? but my guess is no not really. That graphics card is pretty outdated and weak

Your laptop will not be good for gaming. Everything, but the gpu are fine. The GT 520MX is an entry level gpu and is only a little more powerful than the Intel HD 3000.

You will never be able to game the same on a laptop as you will on a desktop. Laptops are made for low power consumption, and as such the CPUs and GPUs are also made for low power consumption. If money is tight I understand that but any mid range desktop will outperform the highest end laptop any day of the week.
