Is this Laptop any good?

I don't know much about computers in general so I hope you can tell me something about this laptop my mom has ordered..

* Nvidia GeForce GT 435M 2GB
* DVD +/- RW
* Wireless, Bluetooth
* 6 cell battery

Can this laptop run any good latest games? If yes please suggest me the settings to use.. (low/mid/high)

Usually the CPU isn't the main factor for gaming, the GPU is. I don't know much about laptop GPU, but my guess is that it should be able to play games at moderate settings unless you try to play things like Crysis. The GPU in your setting is supposed to be similar in power to a 260M, you can check the Hierarchy chart and see for yourself.
