how is the 260m? compared to a 9600m?
also how is the quality of this laptop and do you think that since its not an i7/i5 its not worth it?

260M outperforms a 9600M by a significant margin.

If you value battery life, you'll want C2D over i5/i7 for now. That said, gaming sucks juice like crazy.
