Is This Laptop Good?

This should be fine. What's your budget though as there may be a better system out there for the same price?

$800 but I'm getting an extended protection plan from them as well, which is $100 (I need it, I'm awful one electronics XD)

With that budget you will be hard pressed to find a better laptop unless you wanted to build a desktop PC yourself. To give you an idea of the performance you can expect with that laptop, if you want I can run some benchmarks on a laptop I have with the same GPU.

Sure, I'd appreciate it. I'm also in Canada and I need a laptop for school so my choices are limited

Skyrim - Everything on high and 8x AA and 8x AF gets about 40fps. TF2 is well optimised and it can be run on ultra with everything maxed out, on a server with about 15 people at about 60fps, with it only dropping to 55fps when firing multiple rockets and watching them explode. Hope this helps. Also, cinebench gets about 99 ish

This will be SO nice. I play skyrim on low currently and TF2 min everything and I STILL get lag spikes. The laptop I have currently is awful though, and its had a hard drive, video card and RAM crash in the past week. HP Envy M6-1184ca is my current one.

Have fun with your new laptop! I would recommend upgrading to an SSD in the future but it doesn't have to be done now, maybe also upgrade the ram if you want to later on. The Crucial MX100 is my weapon of choice :)

Can you upgrade the RAM on a laptop? I know you can for a hard drive.

Yes, you can upgrade the ram. Crucial is a good site to see the compatible RAM sticks for your machine (you can buy them elsewhere for cheaper though)

Thanks so much :) I might look into upgrading the HD and RAM if I can save enough for it.
