issues downloading upgraded windows

i am using a dell latitude 4300 and i am currently operating on windows 7 professional but would like to upgrade i have tried both windows 8 and ten with windows eight it says my internet connection but obviously it is working because i am able to post on this forum. With windows ten it says i need to check my computer fist so i click the button that says check computer it then goes to a downloading screen only to go back to the i need to check my computer again

why do you want to upgrade to 8 or 10?
