just installed my 4690K not my gpu keeps crashing!?

just got my 4690K and installed it and put my system back together and after trying to get the pc to boot I found out I cant play any game longer than a few seconds before the GPU or GPU driver crashes. I have a gigabyte R9 280X OC I have tried downclocking it ALOT and also tried overclocking it a little but nothing and the card pulls 1.2V under load is that its normal voltage as I thought it was 1.0V I use the 14.12 omega driver and worked fine when I had my G3258 so what do you guys think is wrong?

Is there another PCie slot available? If yes try testing the card in that slot. See if the same.

I tried another slot and it didn't do it anymore but then I went back to the X16 slot and used a different cable and it works fine now. do you think it was just a cable?
