Question JVC Home cinema

Can someone please help me, I have just bought a second hand JVC home cinema, I have connected the speakers and and CDs plays fine but I can’t get the dvd or tv to connect or have sound. The only connection at the back of the home cinema is for a scart lead which I have connected to the back of my tv with the red, white and yellow leads.

Well if you have the connections right, the inputs may be broken. No way to know if you have things hooked up right without knowing exactly what models of hardware you have and exactly how you have it connected, with pictures of the setup.
