Hi, The panel is going out on my not yet 3 year old Sony HDTV, and I was wondering if there was any kind of a class action law suite filed. I called Sony and they wont do anything about the tv.

Class action, over a burned out light bulb? I think you can just buy a new bulb.

As a MacGuyer fix, I have had success jamming a matchbook or fuse box into the gap where the ribbon cables exit the T-Con board and interface the panel.

W, S and even some XBR panels from that period are notorious for that. A little sweet-talk to Sony's customer affairs line might get you a discount on a replacement model.
