Laptop acting strangely

Hello,
My Sony vaio has been acting very strangely the past month. The keyboard stops working then the screen will become distorted and go from being very bright to very dark. I have done a full restore then installed windows 7. The pc will malfunction and be unusable for days then it will work fine with familiar symptoms slowly reoccurring.

That makes no sense. You mean you tried a restore, that didn't work, then you tried re-installing Win7 fresh?
