My friend's Dell Inspiron 15r 5537 laptop's screen went out the other day. She gave it to me to see what I can do, but I'm at a loss. The laptop will turn on; I press the power button with the battery and/or the power cable plugged in, and the fans kick on and the power, wireless, and the other indicator lights come on like normal. The only thing that doesn't work it the display. It does nothing, no flicker, no anything. Just like it was when it was off.
I tried plugging the HDMI out on the laptop to my TV to see if anything would come up, and nothing did. I know that doesn't necessarily mean anything as I may need to configure the displays for it to use my TV.
Any ideas? All I can think of is the whole display is out.
