Ok so I am beyond needing help with my issue . Recently I purchases an asus q550lf laptop . To match my gaming needs I also purchased a 144hz asus monitor . Now the only way to Recieve 144hz is thru a minidisplayport to DisplayPort cable which I purchased . For 3 weeks it worked fine . Now one day , without any cables moved or what not it just stopped working . When starting the laptop up the monitor would actually wake up and actually work with the asus logo essentially starting up . Right after that , the monitor simply doesn't work and a DisplayPort : no signal error pops up . I've literally tried everything that I can think of and know off . Setting the monitor as dual screens , single screen , I tried different mini display port cables, I've tried system restoring , I've tried updating drivers , deleting drivers , rolling back drivers .... To make things more interesting . When going under my display settings. My monitor actually shows up under the intel graphics tab . As in I can try and make it my only screen . Which it doesn't , it reverts back , aka same DisplayPort no signal error . I've even called asus support to no avail , it seemed I knew more than they did :/ . But one thing calling support showed me , was interestingly enough , after I deleted my graphics drivers (support tech told me to do it ). My laptop started having problems turning on , which brought up a screen mentioning that windows had a problem starting up , would I like to system restore or restart again , IRONICALLY this notification showed up also on my monitor which so happened to be connected thru DisplayPort ~_~ it essentially worked thru my system restore lol , but the same problem arose afterwards. If anyone has any clue on this funky issue ... I'd be greatly appreciative

;)

It sounds like you have a laptop featuring Optimus. The problem may have been the Intel HD graphics driver - which you do NOT want to delete. The internal and external display is routed to the CPU, so you need that driver.

Try reinstalling an updated Intel HD graphics driver, or if you're on the latest one from Intel, roll back or use the one from Asus' site for your laptop model.

I have tried to update the intel driver , to no avail . As I have also done two factory restores . So there is no further roll back possibly , I am abs clueless as what to do next .
