Laptop does not power on or charge asus q534uxk

The device refuses to power on. Checked the battery and it seems damaged. Tried to boot it without the battery but nothing happened. Checked the charger and it seems to be working fine. Tried removing the ram but that didn't help. Tried holding the power button for a few minutes but that also didn't help. I don't know whether or not this is the power button or the motherboard.

Some devices will not work without a functioning battery. Even when plugged in. You may have to replaced the battery before trying anything else.

Where should I look for a new battery? All I have been able to find is a bunch of ebay links offering them for $100+
