1.9 GHz AMD A-Series A8-3530MX
8GB DDR3
1 TB
AMD Radeon ™ HD6630M 1GB Dedicated

v

Intel i3 2370M 2.4 GHz Processor
6GB DDR3
500GB
Intel HD 3000

Used for: Future proof/longevity, reliability, multi tasking (All the usual, skype, youtube, documents etc at once), video/music, would be nice to play games occasionally (nothing too extreme graphics wise).

AMD one is around $50 more.

The i3 is much faster at single and dual threaded apps, which is about 98% of what your going to use it for. It's also more efficient and runs cooler, which will save battery.

However, the A8 has much better grahpics for gaming.

Thanks for the reply.

Based on what you plan on doing both A8 and Core i3 can handle those tasks without any issues. The A8 has a better graphic core than the Core i3 so it would be better for playing games. It's kinda like a desktop Radeon HD 5450 (Core i3's Intel HD 3000) vs. a somewhat slow desktop Radeon HD 5550 (A8's Radeon HD 6620G).
