Laptop for Autocad civil 3d 2015

I'm starting a civil engineering program soon and I need to get a laptop for the course.

I think the main differences are the newer cpu and the the GeForce gpu isn't a "workstation" card

My question: will the GeForce gtx970m (the laptop I want) run autocad civil 3d 2015? Will I have serious performance issues?

I've been reading a lot of forums that say it will work and there are others who say it won't. I would really prefer a gaming laptop over a mobile workstation.

I'm also looking for ideas on what you think would suit me better. My budget around/less than $2000.

If you have to have a gaming laptop then I would get a gtx 980m as it is within you budget.
