is there any laptops under $500 that are great for browsing the internet and checking emails. something with ssd and good battery. Around 14-15 inches and 1080p.

Looks like a good deal. Recently saw a Lenovo with the same specs for just over 600. No need for so much power just for browsing though, save some cash and go with the Lenovo I suggested.

$50 more than my budget but looks like a good laptop to me

Its a great laptop. It has everything you need. Fast i5 processor, SSD (M2) which means you can add another hard drive if you need more space. Decent gpu if you stream videos or light gaming. 1080p screen.
