Laptop for college and very light gaming, ~$1500

I want a laptop which has around a 15 inch screen. I plan to use it mainly for schoolwork, but also for some very light gaming (Sims 4, some indie Steam games).

I also would prefer it to be as light, and preferably not a 2-in-1. I also value speed.

My budget is around $1500, but I can go up to $2000 if it's a really good laptop. Since I have a decent budget, I hope to get a reliable, quick laptop which will last me 5+ years.

I've been considering the MacBook pro w/o touch bar, but I don't know if that would be overkill for my purposes.

For very light gaming, at that budget, many laptops would power through them.

Macbook Pro is a good choice but is overpriced. It is good for video editing, photoshop etc and will work for school.
