Laptop for my son

My son is looking for an allrounder which he can use use photoshop , some games and general other use.

He has ( with our help ! ) around £500-550 to spend

He has an I7 desktop as he does a lot of rendering so he ( SO FAR ) has narrowed it down to these two

His mates have told him he needs a I5 or I7, a dedicated graphics card and at least 4Mb ram...

Dell Inspiron 15R ( 3rd Generation Intel® Core™ i5-3210M processor (3M Cache, up to 3.10 GHz), 15.6", 6Gb ram, 1Tb, 1GB AMD Radeon HD 7670M )

or

Dell, in general, makes a higher quality (and provides better customer support) than Acer. That should be part of the selection criteria as well.
