Hello,

I have a samsung RF711 laptop. A week ago my laptop fell off by a height of one meter and after that i have problems with my battery.
About 80% of the time when i unplug it from the power it shuts down immediately even if the battery shows as full. The other 20% it continues until in random time shutdown again immediately.
When i say shutdown i mean the computer is turn off without a warning.

Is there anything i can do?
Thank you.

The fragile hard drive is much more likely to have suffered from the impact of being dropped, the battery is pretty-well bomb proof by comparison. Of course, impact damage to other components can't be ruled out, but certainly the hard drive will have suffered the most.

I would back up your data then test the hard drive with the drive maker's diagnostic software for DOS to see just how much it's been affected:

WD Data LifeGuard for DOS (only for WD drives): http://www.smartestcomputing.us.com/topic/63494-looking-for-western-digital-data-lifeguard-iso/

Seagate SeaTools for DOS (any make of drive): http://www.seagate.com/gb/en/support/internal-hard-drives/consumer-electronics/ld25-series/seatools-dos-master/

Hitachi DFT for DOS (any make of drive under 3TB capacity): http://www.hgst.com/support/downloads/legacy-downloads#DFT

To create a CD from any of the above downloads, use IMGBurn: http://www.filehippo.com/download_imgburn

Boot your laptop from the CD to test the hard drive.
