My friend laptop had 2 gpu, 1 integrated Intel Graphics, and the another GT 740M. The problem is even I set the Bios graphics to discrete it still use Intel HD and still eat some RAM. I already tried:
1. Disabling Intel HD driver
2. Reinstall GT 740M graphics
3. Clean install Windows to 10
4. Reinstall GT 740M driver after clean install.

On device manager both intel and nvidia driver show up. On DXDIAG the GT 740M show up too. But when I install Nvidia Driver it's showing GPU: none. Windows show only Intel HD graphics and some RAM used for it's VRAM.
Sorry for longpost, Thanks

You cannot disable the Intel Graphics or else the Nvidia one will not work as well if you set the power options in the laptop to high performance the Nvidia gpu should be used when gaming in the Nvidia settings change it to high performance I hope this helps you.
