laptop is unplugged still shows charging

hello
i have a dual boot (windows 7 and linux) laptop
few days ago power manager in windows 7 sarted showing it's charging even though power cable was unplugged.

the charging light is always on even if i turn off laptop and unplug it.

linux also shows the same problem

i have tried to install both windows and linux again but the problem is not resolved.

Is there anything stuck in your power port that could cause the computer to think this way?

Have you tried re-seating the battery?

Is there a red X over the battery and it shows its being charged?

i dont see anything stuck in power port

i have tried to remove drivers from windows and the whole procedure of restarting windows etc

there is no red x sign, it shows plugged wire on battery even if i unplug

if i use this battery with other asus laptop then the same problem doesn't apper

Is confusing. I have never ran into this issue before. What drivers did you try to uninstall?

Yeah that is what I was going to recommend next. I am honestly not sure. Have you opened a case with laptop vendor??

updated bios to latest version from my vendor problem still exists
