Hello,

I own an Acer VX 15-591g and recently my keyboard's keys were damaged beyond repair so I went ahead an bought a replacement for it when I went ahead disassembled the laptop I noticed that the pins on the ribbon of the REPLACEMENT keyboard I bought were less than the original keyboard (lets say 15pins on the replacement and 20 pins slot on the connector), therefore, less than the connector on the motherboard. But here's the thing, my original keyboard is backlit and the replacement is not so I'm thinking the extra pins might be to draw power for the backlight? Any thoughts? I'm unable to provide photos at the moment I also failed to find any schematics that I could use to understand which pins are used for what.
