laptop like desktop?

Alright so I know this might be a stupid question and idea but anyway so one day, while thinking about life, I realized that current Gen laptop hardware is usually worse than current Gen desktop hardware, so I thought: Why not just take an htpc/itx case and build a pc in it. I was thinking i3-4150 and 750 ti and like get a small monitor and mount it to the case somehow. Any opinions?

Well, first off, it wouldn't be very portable, the whole point of a laptop is portability. Because of that fact, the parts have to fit in a small space and thus making them have to be worse.

Second, a monitor like than would potentially be costly, and the skill, time, and money needed to mount it would be too much.

Third, you'd need to power it. With modern hardware, the battery would be huge and not last very long.

I could probably go on a lot more, but here is the short version. 😛
