Laptop Modding

I have a Compaq Presario C770us and would like to be able to downclock to preserve battery life. It's only ever used for internet and some light gaming but the battery life isn't too great. I tried getting into the Bios but it's version InsydeH20 3.0 and will not let me mess with the settings. Is there a different Bios I can put on here that would be compatible with my laptop?

Probably not. You generally can't mess with the clocks on notebooks. You can change your power profile and screen brightness, however.
