Laptop power problems

I just got a brand new laptop. Whenever I go to play games with the charger plugged into it it dies a few seconds later, but when I play in the battery it works fine. Any idea what might be causing my problem?

a brand new laptop having issue? either return/exchange it, or contact the manufacturer support.

I guess I'm gonna have to, I was just hoping it,was something simple i could do to just play my games.
