Hi all,
Let me preface this by saying that I am sorry for another "Which one should I buy?" thread. Ordinarily I would put in a lot more time researching before asking, but with Cyber Monday and holiday deals coming up, I wanted to get an opinion sooner.
I am in the market for a new laptop. Admittedly, I am fairly computer illiterate. My current laptop was a birthday gift from my parents for use in college. I simply asked them to get me the cheapest one that they could find.
I am now looking for a new one. I would go the same route and get a $200-$300 model and call it a day. But I am a gamer, and I figured that while I am getting a new laptop I might as well get one that I can play on. My work is out of state, so a desktop is out of the question. I am traditionally a console gamer so I have very little knowledge of PC hardware. I am also interested in game development, and have been tinkering with Unity 3D.
I have been trying to get educated on the different hardware, but the different company equivalents are a bit overwhelming. So I am hoping that you fine people could point me in the right direction.
Requirements:
My budget is $600, though preferably closer to $500. I understand this doesn't allow for a high end model, but unfortunately that is what I have to work with.
Ability to play at least some games from the past 5 years. Gaming will be strictly offline and mostly adventure and FPS.
I am comfortable with lower gaming settings. I have always been more interested in story and game play rather than graphics. As long as there is not serious lag I am content.
Ultimately, I would love the ability to run Fallout 4, but I understand that my budget might not allow for this. If you could give me options to run Fallout 4, even on the lowest settings, that would be amazing.
If you have any suggestions that are slightly out of my price range, I would still like to hear the, as they may be available for cheaper with Cyber Monday deals.
Thank you in advance for your time and patience.
