Hi, I've been having a problem with my laptop. When I start it up it take foreer to load up and opening files, pictures, programs takes forever to load up. I've been thinking it's either the Hard drive or RAM memory. Here is an error that comes up when I start the computer.

Memory write/read failure at xxxxx, read xxxxx, expecting xxxxx
Memory address line failure at xxxxx, read xxxxx, expecting xxxxx
Memory write/read failure at xxxxx
Decreasing available memory
Strike F1 to continue, F2 to run the setup utility.

Seems like it would be the memory but when i transfer files from my hard drive to a USB stick they tend to get hang at times and slow down in speed near the end of the transfers. I've ordered both a new HD and a new stick of ram since this is an old computer and the parts are dirt cheap it doesn't hurt to try. But maybe one of you would know the exact reason so that's why I wanted to ask.

Thanks.

Memory would refer to ram, most likely. I would suspect that the new stick would help, though I can't guarantee that.
