Solved! Laptop screen is grey/black

Hi Guys,
I have an ASUS k55a. When the laptop is powered on the screen remains black with a dim light. I can change the brightness on the laptop but i cannot see any image on the screen. I have connected to an external monitor and it works fine on that monitor. I have updated graphic drivers but nothing has changed. I have also drain the battery but that has no success either. Any ideas on what the problem can be or solutions to fix this problem?

If it works with an external monitor then the problem is either the cable that connects the display or the display itself.

If it is under warranty, contact the manufacturer. If it isn't, then you can either open it up and try checking/replacing the components yourself, or contact a local tech.
