Ok Guys, iv got a LG HDTV i have purchased a s video cable.
My computer is recongnising that the T.V is connect to my laptop. But when changing the settings so that my T.V is just the main monitor, nothing is happening. I think i will need to programme something on my T.V but i really dont know what to do.

My T.V obviously had HD ports but i dont know what ports i need to have on my laptop.

I have windows XP, and Intel Graphics media accelerator driver.

Any help pleasee! :)

1. you should use your TV remote to change signal source to S video or whatever port you use
2. you should make sure that video output to external monitor (TV in this case) is enabled on your laptop.

to check it go to control panel, display, properties. settings.
you should choose multiple outputs (TV is not grayed out), then click on second display (TV) and set proper resolution. there is also a checkmark to "extend windows desktop onto this monitor".
if you want that to be your primary display, check the other mark but beware that it may be tricky to switch it back to laptop display as primary if you don't have the tv with you to see what are you clicking on.

btw. not sure what kind of performance you expect from external display. intel graphic was always poor performer. i have dell workstation with dedicated video card and i'm not too impressed with S video (HD is another story)
