Hi

All day I've been having problems with my laptop and it not turning on. After searching the internet I found out that the laptop actually works as long as I have it connected to an external screen and if I use an external mouse.

Somehow I figured out that the screen and touchpad are actually still working I just can't open the laptop lid more than a 45 degree angel. If open it more they stop working. When this happens my laptop keybord is still working except for the power button.

Does anyone know what is causing this and what can I do to fix it?

Thanks in advance

Yasmin

Hi,

It's more likely a problem with the ribbon cables connecting the LCD and touchpad on the motherboard. If you can, open the laptop and verify if those cables are seated properly. You can remove it then put it back and make sure the 2 white small clips that holds down those ribbon cables are well in placed. Also inspect the cables if they are not damaged.
