Hi, my laptop has been having this problem for two weeks. I've looked on this board for a while and can't seem to find a solution from other peoples fixes.

This is my laptop specs : https://i.gyazo.com/4bb39968e47293afc7f1151253cf67a6.png

That is when it is idling and about 79 degrees Fahrenheit room temp. The gpu and cpu temp won't even go past 50C when plugged and it will still shut off.

The laptop also shuts off when viewing videos. but not as fast as when gaming.

Hi,

Please do try these troubleshooting steps that may help.
- Start by doing a hard reboot, remove the battery and unplug the AC adapter then press and hold the power button for 20 seconds then try booting it up again.
- Next is to do a clean install of the graphics card driver.
- Go to Device Manager and uninstall the graphics driver.
- Check Programs and Features as well and uninstall anything related to the graphics card.
- Once done, download and install the latest driver.
- Reboot your laptop once the latest driver has been installed then test it after the reboot.
- If the same problem will happen do change the Power Management in Nvidia Control Panel.
- Here's how: http://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/3130/~/setting-power-management-mode-from-adaptive-to-maximum-performance
- If the same issue will happen after changing the power management settings do try a different AC adapter that has the same voltage and see if the same problem will happen or not.
- If it does I would suggest opening your laptop and clean the inside of it and apply new thermal paste as well onto the GPU and CPU.
- If all these will not work unfortunately the problem will be the GPU of the laptop.
