My laptop is about 4 years old and maybe 6 months or so it started shutting itself off while gaming when unplugged. I tried every solution I could think of to stop the issue.
I replaced the battery (it needed it anyways), new power cord, removed as much dust as I could, updates the drivers, updated the BIOS, ran anti-virus, changed the power settings and so on. I am out of ideas on why this is happening.
Now, it started to shut itself off even while plugged in. It is getting unbearable.
The event log just says that windows shut down unexpectedly.
When it happens and I try to power it back on, about half of the time it says that the battery has disabled itself due to being overheated. I tried downloading a temperature monitor and it never reads over 70 C on monitored temps (the average temp hovers between 40-55 C).

System information:
Dell Inspiron 7559
Windows 10 64 bit
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-6700HQ CPU @ 2.60GHz, 2601 Mhz, 4 Core(s), 8 Logical Processor(s)
16 gigs of RAM
Intel (R) HD Graphics 530
and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 60M

Any ideas before I just throw in the towel and get a new computer ASAP?
