Laptop is a Dell Vostro 3300 with old i3.
It has been dragging a bit recently (last couple of months) even when just browsing. Biggy for me though is that games are crashing after just a few minutes. I'm guessing that this is due to overheating.
Been playing Team Fortress on the laptop quite happily (just on Intel HD gxf, but I have low expectations!) for last couple of years until recent issues.

Has also occasionally been hanging up and needing reboots.
I've blown through all the fan slots to ensure no dust build up but still seems to run fairly warm (fan definitely runs more than used to). I ran Speedfan it looks like my idle temps are around 64degC.

Any thoughts?

Ok, so I ran the HDD test in BIOS...Passed.
I ran the Victoria HDD test on the Hirens Boot CD...Passed.

Anything else on the Hirens CD I should be trying?

Try defragmenting your hard drive. I know defragging is becoming a cliche, but it helped me quite a bit. Are you running Windows 7?
