Which mac book pro is the better buy if i bought one, retina display worth it?

13-inch: 2.5GHz

2.5GHz dual-core Intel Core i5
Turbo Boost up to 3.1GHz
4GB 1600MHz memory
500GB 5400-rpm hard drive1
Intel HD Graphics 4000
Built-in battery (7 hours)2

or

13-inch: 2.6GHzwith Retina display

2.6GHz dual-core Intel Core i5
Turbo Boost up to 3.1GHz
8GB 1600MHz memory
128GB PCIe-based flash storage1
Intel Iris Graphics
Built-in battery (9 hours)2

With the amd a6-3400 i can play guild wars 1 perfectly. Would I get even better performance with intel iris graphics, or intel HD 4000 graphics to where i could play gw2 and rs3 on high settings?

Slightly, but Intel HD 4000 will not get good frame rates on high end games. You're far better off buying one of the other suggestions posted in this thread. For the $2200 asking price of the Macbook Pro, you do not get $2200 worth of hardware. You get maybe $300 worth of hardware and a $1500 display. The MSI GS series that I linked to has far better hardware for way less money.
Out of the 2 in the list the second one is better as it has more ram and a better gpu. But it is not the best laptop to get if you want to play games. They are not made for it and are not worth the money if that is your primary use. I would get a windows laptop for this, Even my laptop which is one year old has a better gpu than both of them and it is cheaper.

Honestly if you were to buy an equivalent Windows laptop with those specifications, you would be paying about $500 - $600. There's just no other reason to go with a Macbook, IMO. You're overpaying for sub par hardware with a fancy display.

You could get a much higher end Windows laptop for the same price as the Macbook like the MSI GS70: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834152653

Thanks a lot for the laptop suggestions, really appreciate it, but my choice is going to be to get a mac book pro or either build my own pc.

Would a mac book pro game and have better performance than my HP Pavilion dv7 laptop with these specs: AMD A6-3400M APU with Radeon(tm) HD Graphics 1.40GHz, AMD Radeon(TM) HD 6520G

Thanks.

True story man.

Btw if i got a mac book the price for a 13 inch i think is 1299$ and the 15 inch is about 1999$. But i think if you even want a video card in a macbook the price is going to be about 2499$. Sooo. yeah haha

Just wondering, what do you think about all in one pcs? My mom has one and i kinda like it. Would you say they are better than laptops with performance or worse? If they are good could you possibly link me to a good one? Are Apple all in ones good or bad?
