I have an asus Republic of Gamers laptop, it was $1100 and I spilled water on it. I immediately held it upside down and dried it and took the battery out. I have 2 fans on it and every outer surface is dry. How long should I wait before trying to turn it on?

Solution
The better laptop designs channel water away from critical elements like the motherboard. If you've got one of these, turning it upside-down to drain the water can actually make things worse. I just wish the laptops designed this way would advertise it more prominently so you'd know what to do in case of a spill.

Was it on or off when you spilled the water?

Are there any other panels you can remove to get some more air in there, such as the access panel to the HDD?

I would wait at least a couple of days after opening it up as much as you can, and using your fans.
