Laptop Won't boot

Last night I attempted to install more RAM in my HP Pavilion G6. After I installed it, when I booted the laptop, I entered the password and got nothing but a black screen with my cursor. I removed the RAM and still got the same thing. The laptop has Windows 7 on it. Any help?

Can you boot into safe mode?
