There is a way to make a bootable USB stick from the DVD, if you have a spare PC and the DVD is bootable for sure. But first make sure your HDD/SSD is working and not faulty.

1. Press the BIOS key (e.g. DEL, F1, F2) when the PC is booting passed the MB logo, go to BIOS and see if you can see the HDD/SSD there and if its showing the proper size. If you can see the drive there then probably the drive is ok.

2. Sometimes the error arises from a loose connection also, so make sure that is not the case, open the drive bay situated on the back side of your Lappy, and make sure the connections are firm. Now see if you can get passed the error, if not, then remove the drive and put it on another PC, see if its working, see if you can access it, and it is seen on BIOS. Always make the drive a second drive on another PC, meaning donot try to boot from that drive.

If you are 100% sure of the drive working, reply back, I will help you to make a bootable USB stick from DVD.

And you can check the HDD/SSD health with this tool : http://crystalmark.info/software/CrystalDiskInfo/index-e.html

Good luck.
