Laptop wont connect to internet

I have a packard bell laptop easynote tj68.

I reset my laptop back to its factory settings and it went all fone nothing popped up. Loaded all fine, its connected to my wifi and loads pages like facebook but wont let me do anything else like go on the avg website it just comes up with:

Internet explorer cannot open the internet site
Http/fre.avg.com/gb-en/homepage

Please someone help me im stuck

It seems IE won't go on the Internet
But face book is working!

Have you tried other popular internet Browsers such as Mozilla Firefox or Chrome

You can't go to avg website is this the only site you can't go to?
Malware often blocks your attempts to go to major anti malware websites

What av software are you running when on the Internet ?
Also note the address you typed is wrong
Should be
Http/free.avg.com Works
Not //fre.avg.com. No such site

Can you go to www.google.com?

If only problem is corrupt IE
It can be reset by going to control panel Internet tools then advanced settings
Reset IE
