I have two flatscreen monitors (Dell) connected by a vga splitter and my laptop (IBM Thinkpad with Windows 7) is only recognizing it as one monitor ... do I need to get a vga/usb to make it work? Not sure of the driver version, but it said it was most current. The only way it recognizes two monitors is the laptop and one flat screen.

Solution
It should work.... The problem is rather in the vga cable, vga splitter, or the monitor itself. Try plugging in both monitors 1 by 1 and if they both work then it's the splitter, if only 1 works it's the cable. and if you get a new splitter/cable and it doesn't work, look into the warranty.
