I had a Samsung evo 860 that was in my desktop for about 3 weeks, running Windows 10.
I put my SSD into my Dell Inspiron 15 7000 series 7548 trying to get better performance (since I need a laptop now) and it worked for the whole night, then the battery died and I had to plug it in overnight to let it charge. It wouldn't turn on with the SSD, I put the SSD back into my desktop, it works no problem. I put the old harddrive into the laptop, it still won't turn on, plugged in or not.

I am not sure what to do, I would like to use my laptop with the SSD.

Thanks.

Solution
Remove the SSD and see if the laptop will turn on. It should. It should display a message to select the boot device.
At this point, I just want to make the the laptop is working.

Laptop has no drive in it, pressing the power button only shows a light at the button and on the bottom

Ok I managed to get it to turn on. It seems that there was residual power (?) still inside of the computer, removing the battery and holding power on for 15 seconds fixed this and now it will at least start. Can I do what I did before by moving my SSD into the laptop or will this happen again?
