I have a Lenovo Y510p laptop. When I press the power button, the system doesn't boot. No sounds nor display. No beeps or POST. However the power buttons LED as well as the charger and battery LED is on. I'm guessing it's a motherboard failure...any help? Thanks in advance.

Hi,

Couple of things you can do to confirm that it's the motherboard.
- Do a hard reset first, remove the battery and AC adapter then press and hold the power button for 20 seconds. Plug just the AC adapter then power it on.
- If it doesn't boot up but there are light on the laptop reseat the RAM, remove them all off then put them back in after couple of seconds making sure that they are seated properly.
- Next is to try and connect an external monitor if available and see if you'll get any display from it. If you do that means either the display or the cable that connects it to the motherboard is bad but if there's no display still it's the motherboard.
- But to be sure do test the AC adapter if it's supplying enough voltage to power...
