I know everyone says you can't replace a laptop graphics card, but is it because they are soldered in most of the time and it's hard to replace, or just because the system wouldn't recognize the new card.
Most of the time the GPU is integrated onto the System/mother board. So laptops do have replaceable gpu's though. These are usually higher end gaming laptops.

This means that the gpu is soldered onto the motherboard which makes it hard to pull out. But some laptops do have replaceable gpus and cpus but they tend to cost a lot.
