LCD screen is blank

I have a Olympus SP 350 digital camera. I have an issue with my screen.. When I turn my camera on, it shows a blank white screen.. What does that mean??? The only thing it has on the screen is HQ 3264x2448 [xD] 106 with a little square box beside the 106. That's it... Can anyone assist me??

Clearly something is broken. The question is whether it's the screen or the taking sensor. See if the camera will display pictures already in the camera's memory card. If they display okay the sensor has probably gone. If nothing the screen has probably gone.

The camera seems to have an optical viewfinder so you could continue to use it with a broken screen. I fear that any repair is likely to be expensive (compared to a new camera) but it is worth taking it to the dealer in case, it's something minor you (or I) have overlooked.
