Lenovo Ideapad Y480 Not Getting Power

I bought a y480 Ideapad awhile back. At one point my GF was using it and said that it stopped charging and eventually the battery drained and died. Now when I take the battery out and plug in the ac adapter I get nothing. The computer won't turn on or do anything. When I put in the battery and the computer isn't plugged in I still get nothing. When I plug in the computer with the battery in the battery light blinks orange 3 times then stops. If I hold the power button down it will blink forever. I've tested the power chord with other devices and it works so that isn't the problem... Any ideas whats going on? Thanks

Probably a damaged DC jack on the motherboard.

I was thinking that might be what it is... It makes sense if the computer isn't charging the battery and when its plugged it it doesn't turn on... Only weird thing is that it must get some kind of power cuz of the orange blinking light when the adapter is plugged in...
