I have Lenovo Yoga 520 -purchaes in September. When using the backspace key you have to tap individually, holding it down does not work - in Word or Browser search.
When entering search item in Chrome or IE instead of just presenting a list to choose from the top item is pre-filled.
Went PC World they just said back it up and we will send off - seems a bit extreme for what looks like a small fix?

Sounds like you have a stuck key. Remove the keyboard, make sure nothing is stuck under the keys, they are all clean, nothing sticky is in the keyboard, connect it again, see if it works fine after that.
Thanks for the answer but this is a nearly new laptop - I dont want to be invalidating the guarantee and I have no experience of removing keyboards. I attached a usb keyboard and as expected the backspace key worked fine - individually and repeat mode, and the problem with internet search was cured which I did not expect,so I wonder if it is keyboard driver issue?
