Lenovo Y50-70 Screen stopped working

So as anyone whos familiar with this laptop knows, there is some glitching/flickering on the screen since day 1 for me. But today i was watching a movie and it started flickering and now all i get is a black screen with backlight on it. The screen is turning on, it's just displaying black.
I'm using the pc on HDMI and its working fine on an external display.

Do i need to open the shell and tighten the connectors? I would like to avoid this. Thanks

You'll most likely have to. Either that or your screen is dying. Might have to replace that backlight

I have called lenovo and issued a pickup for repair, anyways im still going to try and open the laptop
