LG hdtv problems

I have had a LG 42" HDTV for a few years with a recurring problem - a build-up in the frequency of the picture freezing to the point that the freeze is accompanied by a very loud alarm-like sound. We have changed our cable providers DVR boxes several times - they have monitored their signal to our house and they claim that the problem is not on their equipment. The freezeups do not occur with a new box until it has been in service for a few months - then they start on an increasingly shorter & shorter frequency - leading to the blaring alarm freezeup. We have rebooted as SOP to restoring the picture but this is just not something to love with.

do you have equipment hooked up to the TV? does the same thing happens with the DVR?

we have a DVR - no problem with it. Now the latest - both the TV went into freezeup & blaring alarm like sound at the same time that the coffeemaker had a performance problem. Makes me think - is this a blink/whatever with the in-coming utility supplied AC power? We are in a suburban community with no history of outages and a well established grid power supply???
