I have an LG smart tv with only one audio out -- optical -- which goes to my sound bar. My husband needs to use headphones, but then I cannot hear the tv. Is there a way to have both?

You can achieve this with three adapters, for not too much money:
1) Optical signal splitter: http://www.monoprice.com/Product?c_id=104&cp_id=10423&cs_id=1042301&p_id=966&seq=1&format=2
2) Optical to analog adapter: http://www.monoprice.com/Product?c_id=104&cp_id=10423&cs_id=1042302&p_id=6884&seq=1&format=2
3) RCA to headphone adapter: http://www.monoprice.com/Product?c_id=102&cp_id=10218&cs_id=1021815&p_id=5612&seq=1&format=2
4)

If you need an extra optical cable, I suggest buying it online also: http://www.monoprice.com/Product?c_id=102&cp_id=10229&cs_id=1022901&p_id=1447&seq=1&format=2

You can combine the digital converter and RCA adapter by purchasing this on Amazon instead:
http://www.amazon.com/Digital-Optical-Converter-Headphone-Amplifier/dp/B003XCHCLC (it has headphone jack already)
