little help with desktop speakers

thinking of trading/selling my 5.1 i know regret buying for some ultra good 2.1s for a small bedroom (9x11) my 5.1s cant be wall mounted so ya...and the wires dont even go halfway to the center of my room and they are just taking up tons of space on my desk i listen to lots of bassy songs

imo 5.1 speakers aren't worth it for PC systems. I had one hooked up to a Creative Audigy soundcard in an ancient build and I kept tripping over them and rolling over wires.. that and it was fiddly to get it to work properly sometimes. I just recommend as you said a good 2.1 setup or simply a pair of good headphones, you won't notice the difference too much and you can use the headphones for other things as well (bear in mind headphone selection is very important for your first pair, don't stinge! just make sure they last long and sound great!) <--- for that I point you to HeadFi.com where there's a comprehensive list of reviews for bassheads and audiophiles alike
