is that 3gb made up of 1 x 2gb ddr2 667mhz pc2 5300, with 1 x 1gb ddr2 667mmhz pc2-5300?

You will need to swap out 1GB 2Rx8 DDR2-800-MHz-CL6

Then replace with another 2GB 2Rx8 pc2-6400s-666-12-ES

if you have 32 bit windows, it'll only see about 3.5GB of 4GB anyway, so may not be worth it.
