So i am looking for a good laptop cooler for my 15" MSI Ghost with the GTX 970m. When gaming, my temps reach 88c on my GPU, but never over. Right now it just sits on my desk.

Solution
I use the following laptop cooler for my Dell Latitude 3540; DeepCool Laptop Cooling Pad (Multi Core X6). It is a good cooler since it is relatively quiet and it lowers my laptop's temps by about 6C.

However, my Dell only has a nVidia 940m so it definitely does not run as hot as a GTX 970m. I cannot say if the cooler will cool down your laptop by more than 6C because there is only so much a laptop cooler can do.

For the moment try using two bottle caps to raise the back of the laptop while it is sitting on your desk. There could be a chance that there is not enough space between the bottom of...

For the moment try using two bottle caps to raise the back of the laptop while it is sitting on your desk. There could be a chance that there is not enough space between the bottom of the laptop and the desktop for the intake vents to draw enough air to cool the laptop.
